Its like the POC d3o spine protector but suppose to be a bit more comfortable ( doesn't rub on your neck ) , moto rated and WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY cheaper..

Just want to correct you the 661 d30 is not the same as POC's VPD.

d3o retains whatever form its cut into

The VPD is more dough like, in that when you wear it your body heat warms it and it molds to you. It rebounds very slowly. When you push a thumb into it and remove it you can see your imprint and it slowly returns to its initial shape

Both do mimic hardshell protection when struck though.

The Biofoam that Oneal uses looks to be a dense, closed cell foam, which is very good for flexibility but not the best for impact protection.
