I still have trouble believing this is true. Having said that, Haggard's denial, which was, "I've never had a gay relationship with anybody. I'm steady with my wife. I'm faithful to my wife," Haggard told CNN affiliate KUSA-TV."

I've said that many times, however, and have been surprised fairly often. We'll see tomorrow...either Mr. Jones gets slapped with a huge libel suit, or Ted's got some 'splaining to do. I imagine if it's true, Haggard will admit to a drug problem, head into rehab, and castigate liberals for being hypocrites for not accepting his homosexuality...

what if he is innocent. if i were wanting to trample on the church's image and i were willing to promote myself as a male escort; all it would take is a call to the news station with the degrading statement. even the mere question of integrity issues can cause a huge uproar in the frequently targeted church.
just offering a different approach to this. i'll wait to see how the investigation turns out to form my opinion on the matter.

The Rev. Ted Haggard today admitted buying methamphetamine from a male prostitute, who he said he was referred to for a massage.
"I bought it for myself but never used it," he said. "I was tempted but I never used it."
Haggard, speaking to reporters outside his Briargate home, made the admission one day after resigning his leadership post at the National Association of Evangelicals and putting himself on administrative leave from the 14,000-member New Life Church in Colorado Springs.
He said he never had sex with the prostitute, who made allegations this week that the two had a three-year sexual relationship.
Haggard was sitting in his pickup truck with his wife and three of his children in the backseat, and said he was on his way to an appointment. A panel of outside church leaders wanted to talk to him about the scandal, he said.
"Both (religious) positions are based on trust and right now my trust is questionable," he said.

i believe the thinking is if you're on meth & have gay sex, you're not really gay; it doesn't count. it's a derivative of "if i take this roofie & wake up dialated, i have plausable deniability".
hope that makes sense.
There would be a huge libel suit. Believe it or not, you can't just walk into a tv station and say, "I had gay sex with Ted Haggard" and get ushered onto the air five minutes later. It doesn't work like that.
You know, I've gotten massages in the past, and my wife gets them rather often, and neither of us has never been referred to a homosexual prostitute for one. And I live in the sodomite capital of the world, California...

there's one sure-fire way to settle this, and all we need is a little taint inspection. Is ted's waxed? If so, guilty.
