Have any of you guys ever bought parts from Amazon or Ebay that come from Hong Kong? Im building up a cheapish bike and was looking at some 780mm bars that are cheap.

I realize the parts are cheap, and not very light, but for this bike, thats fine.

Im wondering if I'm going to get scammed....

Done it a bunch, for bike and non-bike stuff. Out of maybe 100 Chinese/HK/Godknowswhere shipments I've had a few go missing in transit and always gotten a refund quickly.

It's hard to argue with stem spacers for $0.50/delivered or a $10 N/W chaining when attempting to keep your nice cranks when selling your old bike.

I've ordered car parts from China a few times. Little dinky items like plastic fasteners and whatnot.

They all arrived, but sometimes it took a long time. And everything always had that horrid cheap plastic stench to it.
