Hello again trail enthusiasts,

Otter Creek Outdoor Recreation Area will be open May 14th thanks to the hard work of Ky Fish and Wildlife Staff and the many volunteer groups that are pouring their heart and soul into the park.

We had anther great turnout the last trail work day got another few miles of trails open. We're getting close to having most of the original trail system open. We've even added some re-routes to increase flow and reduce drainage and safety problems. We even flagged about 3 1/2 miles of new trail to open up and hope to get another few miles flagged soon.

When: Saturday, April 30th at 8:30 am SHARP! The park gate cannot be left open. We will be working as long as possible so bring a lunch if you want to stay all day. The outbound gate is automatic so you can leave anytime you wish.

What to Bring: Work gloves, sturdy shoes, water (bottled or in a camelback), lunch, loppers/trimmers, chainsaws with PPE and lots of energy.

What are we doing in the near future: Finish work on the first two sections, trying to reopen the creekside section of OCT, cutting a new reroute and possibly opening some new trail.

Do not to Bring: Your Bike, the trails just a bit more TLC before they can be ridden and they are quite wet from the recent rains.
