Well, the Terrible Twos is a bit of an abstract concept, commonly classified as 1.5 - 3 years of age, according to the literature I have read with my 2 children (4.5 and 2.5 YO)

I would have to say it is circumstantial, as it has not been the case for me. My daughter has been a complete angel from 3 - 4.5. My son however, has been a complete pill for the last year.
