The shock mount bolt hole on my trail bike has become ovalized, its not terrible but there is play and I know it will get worse, I want to try and fix it before it gets too bad. Think it is possible to drill the hole out slightly larger, along with the bushings on the RS shock (just slightly with a lathe) and use a larger bolt? Or am I SOL?

I am debating fixing that and selling it but want it to be fixed before I attempt to sell it. I have time on a lathe and working in a shop so I am capable of doing this just wondered if anyone has done this or anything similar.

What about drilling the hole round again and making a flanged insert to bring it back to stock size.

It would look like a ring bolt (female) without the threads. That shouldn't be to hard if you are machine-ily inclined.

I like rhinos idea, some sort of steel insert would be cool and probably stronger than original. I bet a good LBS could help you with that. If not maybe a machine shop or something, I dunno I'd call around and see.
