yesterday I have open the stem bolt and then tighten them back.

it was definitely the carbon bar making the noise...
not the stem bolts
now I 'm really afraid using it...

When I was not sure, how hard should I tighten my FSA CF GravLight bar I ask friend at FSA. He told me "use torque specified on the stem" In my case (PRO FRS stem) it's about 5Nm.

We apply carbon fiber paste to our bikes and customer's bikes that use carbon parts on their bikes when they are in the shop having wk done or having new carbon parts added, like h.bars, stems, seatposts. We have good results with it as well. Ritchey also has a small preset pocket sized torque wrench so you cant over torque the bolts. Fairly inexpensive as well.

Carbon fiber paste. http://www.finishlineusa.com/products/fiber_grip.htm and http://www.tacx.com/en/producten/fietsgereedschappen/Carbon_pasta/index.dot We use both depending if one is out of stock from the distributor.

Ritchey Torque Key. http://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_prod.php?p=05-252-100 (Should be pretty close to what most carbon bars spec for torque ratings on bars and seat posts.) Check with your carbon parts mfg for the torque specs on your particular bars if ya want to be sure before getting the key.:D

Anyway, just some info from shop experience. Hope it helps a bit.

Have a great time riding this summer! :thumb:

we use these and sell them to customers with anything carbon. Ritchey and Giant both make them in different Nm settings, from 3-6Nm.

always follow mfg's torque specs on carbon parts!
