I was contemplating getting a P. Street to replace my ghetto urban bike. (Yes, I ride a Hard Rock). I was wondering if anyone has ever ridden one before. Also, does anyone know how much it weighs? Any reviews/info would be greatly appreciated.

I sat on one at supergo-its heavy. and i mean, REALLY heavy. high 30's for sure, for a 24" singlespeed and 3" fork, i think is rediculous

check out a p3 or p1

$1100 isn't really that cheap, though. Damn, I'll have to reconsider my options. I really wanted an urban bike, and I'm small, so it would fit me well. Plus, I could use pegs. Hmmm... I wonder if a 26" fork with disk brakes would work with the 24" front wheel? I could save some weight there for sure.

The p.street is awesome. only reason it's heavy is the stupid dirt street fork. Put on a normal fork and it's great.

somewhere really ****ty
my friend has one. ive ridden it a little bit but he let me ride it at the skate park a couple days ago and i thought that it felt pretty sweet. if you want a good mix between mtb and bmx bike then its great. i didnt think it really felt too heavy. but that little mini monster t on the front is really heavy.

That thing was a drag on my bike shop. A Specialized rider was nice enough to take it off our hands.

I think the difference between this and any 24" BMX Cruiser is the price tag. It has some fancy parts, like Hussefelt bars and stem, but this is not exactly "ghetto urban". A Dirt Jam is not exactly a DJ1 either.

I also notice it only comes in Long this year as well, with a 22.75 top tube. This might be a bummer if you are a shortie.

I like the P.2 personally. The frame is stronger than a Hardrock, and you avoid a Mammy-Poo fork like on the P.3.

put a normal fork on it and it's a p.1 cro-mo. Why not just get that instead?

It's much better looking if nothing else...

I hate manipoo! Also, I want to run pegs. I don't want to have to build a new front wheel, either. The fork on the P street isn't a Dirt Jam, it's a real Dirt Jumper (or so the website says). I'm going down to SuperBlow to ride it around before I decide what to get. Hmmm... either a P1, a P Street, a cruiser BMX, or a nice BMX bike. So many options!

If you want a 24" single speed, just buy a cruiser. You'll get way more bike for you money. You could probably even through a zokes street fork on it without screwing up the geo too much

oh yeah and if you're goin to get a bigger bike than a bmx than you really should get a suspension fork while you're at it. its so rough on a bmx bike compared to even a hardtail. BTW i have a p.2 and i LOVE it. my bmxer friend wants one just cuz its so much more fun to ride around and jump. this is all just my opinion of course, and maybe a bmx bike won't hurt your back so w/e.

So many bmx bikes have short top tubes. I hated them all until I tried a well set up 21" tt bike. And now they go up to 21.5" It makes all the difference. I get more back pain going for a xc ride.

I think I will just get a BMX bike. I already have a DJ hardtail but I wanted to do more street/park riding.

any of you guys know of a complete BMX that comes with a 21" TT?
I'd like to pick up a cheap-ish complete to try out. I haven't ridden a 20" in about 16 years.

i used to have a 21" volume dinosaur frame, and i think they make decent completes for $500. of course there are way better deals on bigger brand bikes. look (not buy) at danscomp.com. they have a wide variety of complete bikes.

I've only been riding BMX for about 9 years now, but there are TONS of bikes that come with 21" top tubes. My Standard TRLS 250 has a 21" tt, and I'm 5'9", wishing I had a 20.75". Advantages to a BMX bike compared to a MTB:
Lighter
Stronger
Cheaper
I have many MTB's, but I still ride the 20" at the dirt jumps more often than the MTB. You just need good trails, steep, deep, smooth, and far. MTB's are cool because they are far less limited. The skills you learn on a BMX bike will VASTLY improve your MTBing skills. I'm a semipro racer, and I "train" about half and half 20"/MTB. If you already have a Hardrock, which has a SWEET frame, you could easily spend $500 on a sweet 20", and spend the other $600 you'll be saving on some non-ghetto parts. My friend actually bought a Hardrock, stripped it down, and built it up with nice parts, thus making a light, strong, well riding bike. For courtesy's sake, don't become another kook at the skate park on a MTB. But hey, with whatever bike you get, I'm sure you'll have fun and enjoy many fun adventures on it. Peace.
