Hi

I've bought a Pace Airforce 38. Lock-Out and rebound dosen't function. I've tried to prime the damper as described in Pace tech support but it didn't solve the problem. I very much suspect the damper to be completely drained of oil.

I've contacted Pace but they keep referring to to their tech-support

Anyone know how to add oil and what the proper quantity is?

This would make me real :) :)

Is the lockout a rebound lockdown like ecc where you compress the fork and it just doesn't rebound or is it a compression lockout like on a fox fork where the compression locks out and the fork won't compress except for huge hits? If it's the former, I'd suspect oil level is the problem in the rebound circuit, there has to be enough oil for the damper to be completely submerged throughout the travel of the fork, but I know absolutely nothing of this fork so my guess is just a guess.

its a fox like lockout, compression locks and the the fork become rigid. Pace just came up with some info, the fork holds 95ml of oil but if I want to know how to change it I'll have to send them £2 and an envelope, then they'll ship a manual......

Pace is a Brit company, they make magnesium/carbon ultra lightweight forks and some alloy frames for xc and trial.

Sounds like a dodgey company, the manual should have come with the fork, take it back to the shop you bought it and tell them to buy the manual then fix it. You shouldn't have to deal with these problems out of the box. It sounds like the procedure for changing the oil might be somewhat involved with having to purge air from the cartridge in some special (read difficult) way. I'd return it to the vendor or manufacturer for service, and I wouldn't pay a cent for it, you paid for a working product and got something that doesn't. If the lockout is a compression lockout I'd be suprised if you are getting any compression damping or rebound damping at all.

can't complain, got the frame used and as is..........cheap. Pace has helped as much as they could, they're ok. btw they advertise with -99 but brand new fox vanilla RC at £99.95.

Turns out that someone in the past has disassembled the fork without having the knowhow or ability to reassemble it...............I tore the thing apart and reassembled it correctly.........perfect,its a real nice fork.

anyway, thanx for the input
