Brian, you're the go-to guy for Mavic. Hook a brutha up, eh? I've been getting two numbers from various sources: 534.5mm and 539mm. Which is the correct ERD? Thanks.

Actually I find dt's #'s on several rims not very accurate and don't rely on them.

They must be wrong on the hubs to make up the difference cause 5mm is a lot in the spoke world.

exactly wrong on two hubs? and i built two wheels using recycled spokes from a 521 and 321. Both were listed as needing +/- 1mm for the spokes, so i just directly swapped.

Maybe just luck then, Mavic say's 534.5 not 539. To me thats a big difference.

i recall even Mavic misprinting ERDs in the past. Also for what year is that? it seems the newer models have a deeper profile come to think of it.

This is direct from Mavic, I've built several 321/729 and its always been dead on using their ERD.

I assume that measures interior RD? Not external or the spokebed?

ERD is the measurement from where one nipple "head" contacts the eyelet straight across to where the other nipple contacts the eyelet.

you might wanna check, but i think with the removable eyelet design, the ERD ends up being the ID of the rim. Be alot easier to measure with eyelets out too.
