The traditional Wednesday night ride went down last night at Palos.
This motley crew of Yeti Clyde, Andy, CDT, and Renegade Rick all met up on the "In and Out" trail, rolled through the sloppiness on Burrito hill, and then somehow magically teleported to the parking lot where this picture was taken.
While we were posing like supermodels, Cambr John, Marv, and Steve (onedriver?) appeared.
John took us on a fast paced ride up to the new trail. Marv caught a bush with his handlebars and was thrown to the ground. Yeti Clyde had to bunny hop him to avoid running him over. CDT drew second blood on the new trail, and then we worked our way back to the blue trail.
When we started out on the blue trail we stopped to watch a beautiful dear wearing black, oh and this deer too.
After I took a few photos, we took off to try and catch up with the group. CDT and I ended up waiting a LONG time for Andy and Yeti Clyde to catch up to us, but it never happened, so we turned back to look for them. When we made it back to the parking lot, we learned what happened.
Yeti Clyde had snapped the crank arm clean off of his bike. I feel somewhat responsible since I had been bunny hopping it earlier, but not so much so that I want to buy him a new bottom bracket or anything crazy like that.
We loaded up the bikes and went to Willow Crossing for beers on CDT and a heart attack basket of fried death. There we discussed the evening's adventures, internet porn and watched the White Sox beat the Pirates.
It was a great night and a great ride.
Here is one more shot of the busted bike. I'm sure it wouldn't have happened on the 29r
