Lots of luck is needed in this race, so who knows. But I think Fabian is the favorite. Did you see him in Flanders? He was climbing up the hill he dropped Boonen on without any perceptible struggle- just spinning seated. And then he motored away from Boonen like only he can. Very impressive form at the moment.

I think it's going to be pretty hard for those guys to get away clean, they're going to be marked so hard it won't be funny.
That said, those guys are some of the only folks who have the horsepower to walk away from everyone else. I could see a break of a couple of strong guys, I'd *love* to see it come down to sprint in the 'drome there.
My ideal podium would have George on the podium, I don't think he has a win or even the podium ahead of him tomorrow, but he's been trying this so damn long.
I think we *might* see a surprise from Millar even, he got a taste for it the other week, and might even have a 2nd or 3rd career in front of him on the pave.
Me too. I don't think he can win the Tour this year, but have high hopes for the Vuelta or Giro for him. He's making the rest of Saxo look not so hot right now. Hope they get some good money for next year.
I was thinking the same when watching that amazing pull. I he is not clean you should think they would have caught him by now since he did not get fast over night.
I caught the last 40k or so online with wonderful Flemish commentary. Good race and a good show from Cancellara. But I was a bit disappointed that the chase didn't do much. Boonen's post-race comments seem to confirm what it looked like was going on: Cancellara surprised him and others, then the chase never really got organized and started racing for second place. Kind of lame in that respect. I know Cancellara is strong, but you'd think Flecha, Boonen, Hushovd and the others could have put up a much better fight if they committed to it instead of being so concerned with second place. But, I guess that's pretty common in cycling.

That would have been a hell of a lot of work....you expect too much from those guys You would think they would say, let's catch him..better one of us wins than him.

So he can't win the Le tour but he might have a chance at the other tours with more climbing? The dude has incredible horsepower but is too big to ever be a premier climber.

I watched a bunch of this on Versus last night. Such a cool race. I kept thinking - holy crap those cobblestones look punishing. And I kept wondering when I saw so many black clouds overhead - holy carnage if those clouds start to unleash rain on the riders. It must be one helluva crazy race in the rain/wet.
Well, it wasn't exactly a tough call, and I have no proof, but I totally pegged this one: Talking to a friend on Saturday night I said that if conditions are dry, no one will touch Cancellara.
Damn I am awesome. I can has a cookie? Go Spartacus!!
I really hate the nagging question of whether he is clean. I know it's unavoidable, and some of his peers are not so subtle when they call him an "alien", or "unnatural" or "extra-terrestrial", but still, I wish we could just believe.
