Ever make your own?

1 cup normal flour (don't believe the 'special' flour hype)
1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk.

Tip your flour onto the bench. Make a well in the centre and crack the eggs into it. Carefully mix the flour into the eggs. You'll end up kneading a nice pasta dough.

Invest in a pasta rolling machine. Pass the dough through the machine as per instructions on box.

Voila! Homemade pasta! So easy and better tasting too IMO.

Tonight I fried off some wild mushrooms with lots of butter and garlic. Threw some chopped flatleaf parsley in, then added my cooked pasta in straight from the boiling pot. Added a drizzle of white truffle oil and some cooked asparagus and piled it on the plates. Topped it off with some Parmesan shavings and some chervil sprigs. Drizzled a bit of red wine syrup around and served.

I should have put a pasta rolling machine on our wedding registry. What you just described tasted so good in my mind.
