Yeah - usually we whip up a recipe of pork loin chops with peach sauce... it's really quite tasty. Especially served up with a nice Oregon pinot noir:Man I love good peaches.
Fresh and raw or
Try em grilled with vanilla ice cream and mint
Or in a salad with goat cheese, toasted nuts and prosciutto
Or stuffed into a pork roast with lots of butter and thyme
Heavenly...<snip>
I wonder how they'd be with bacon wrapped around 'em.
Cut your room temp peaches into 8th's, wrap in thinly sliced bacon or pancetta, and sear them 'til just brown in a pan or on a grill, then toss into a salad or just serve 'em as is. Toothpicks will help if you go with the grill.I wonder how they'd be with bacon wrapped around 'em.
Come on out in mid-August next year. Pick yourself up some of the good stuff out by Fruita. Hell - ride Fruita while you're there.I haven't had a good peach in two years. WTF?
All that for a peach?Come on out in mid-August next year. Pick yourself up some of the good stuff out by Fruita. Hell - ride Fruita while you're there.
Well, you could say it was for riding Fruita, Moab, and Grand Junction... but we'd know it was for a peach. All that for a peach?
We picked blueberries in Oregon on our family vacation a few weeks back... kids got over 3lbs in about 30 minutes. And get this: $1.25/lb.A frost killed off tons of trees in our area this year. it sucks. the ones we are getting are from alabama and are just not as good as ones that come from closer to home. Frost killed off all the blueberries this year, we didn't get a one.
Haha! But at $1.25/lb, I'd embrace the subsequent "issues". I've never had fresh blueberries from the vine/bush/tree. Jeez, I don't even know how they grow. :We picked blueberries in Oregon on our family vacation a few weeks back... kids got over 3lbs in about 30 minutes. And get this: $1.25/lb.
We had blueberry.... issues... for days.
They grow on bushes and are usually very productive:Haha! But at $1.25/lb, I'd embrace the subsequent "issues". I've never had fresh blueberries from the vine/bush/tree. Jeez, I don't even know how they grow. :
I've seen these at Costco in 1.5lb bags but have never tried them. What's the flavor like? I'd imagine it's more concentrated, which would probably be quite tasty...Hey Laura, I realize it's just not the same but have you ever tried dried blueberries? Like raisons but better because they're blueberries. I just came across them and they work okay as a (dare I say it) substitute. Well..at least a sub to the little container of "fresh" from the grocery store.
Yep, got them at Costco and they are indeed very concentrated. A bit too much like candy so consumption happens in moderation......I've seen these at Costco in 1.5lb bags but have never tried them. What's the flavor like? I'd imagine it's more concentrated, which would probably be quite tasty...
I've been known to send goodies to my friends tooOMG, black forest cake cookies....baked by TreeSaw....whoa. Based on the rumors I've heard about you, those should be some insanely delicious nibbles.
