what a stupid thing to do. i don't ever go to places like this so i forgot about how all the cattle flock to outlet mall sales on labor day.
so i drove to N. GA to go to the Izumi Outlet to pick up some socks and some shorts etc.

The shorts I was looking at were almost 200 bucks! WTF! I mean they were nice shorts and all but 200 bucks! All this sh!t is so over priced. I asked the sales guy why it was so expensive, he said because it is "welded" and their are no stitches in the seam. WTF? That should be cheaper, it looks like someone just took a heated bag sealer and melted the lycra together.

I'm gonna just stuff some charmin down my pants and pray it doesn't rain.

have you ever ridden welded shorts on a long ride? I have. They make a HUGE difference. My sewn Pearl's give me major chaffing that eventually lead to me not being able to sit down.

The welded ones keep my ass nice and comfy for hours at a time on the saddle.

i'm doing my first solo 24HOA this october. Do you think my ass would thank me for it later? Ummm let me reword that. I was thinking of getting the Izumis that had the seam on the outside, they are still like 120 bucks :mumble:. Do you think the welded ones are more comfortable than these?

I guess I need to try them on :mumble: I just hate the thought of my boys bein down there where who knows who had tried them on a few hours before. :nope:

i've been in that place. i go up there and stop by that little outlet sometimes when i go and do the gaps.

that outlet is about the same price most shops are and actually in some scenarios a bit more expensive.....as for the welded shorts, i haven't tried a set of em. heard good things about em though. personally never had any real problems with stitched bibs or shorts......

If you are doing a 24 solo get the nicest most comfy shorts you can, and stand up as much as you can. Pacing your ass is as important as pacing your legs.

Me too. Sometimes you can find some deals on the clearance racks but, I forgot it was labor day and every store looked like it had been hit by a hurricane.

How is APB doing down there? Any flooding?

Oh God of the 24 Hour Race, have any suggestions for a kid with cheap shorts? I'm racing 12 Hour Solo at 24 Hours of Soldier Hollow this Saturday with my Fox mid Ranger baggies, and I just plan on taking a case of bag balm with... :dead:

it was slow when i went in this afternoon to see what was going on and to drop them off some food so they wouldn't lose their minds. but that is to be expected of a day like this. and as for the rain, he doesn't have any real issues of leakage from the roof. otherwise the stores been rockin n rollin. got a shiet load of 05 konas in, mostly the lower end ones, and we're getting in some stuff for my CX bike so i can build it this week. waiting some brakes, a seat, and that's it really.....the other stuff is stuff i'm finding around the store that's been used like once or twice and are in our "spare" draws lol

I have a pair of castellis, a air of welded pearls and a pair of the outside seam pearls. The outside seam ones are what cut my ass to pieces.

The castellis are my favorite, but I cannot bring myself to ride Dh in $300 shorts, even under pants.

I would suggest some $150 or so pearls. Make sure you break them in first on a few short rides, and for all that is comfy, USE Chamois CREAM. It will make a MASSIVE difference.
