I took time off of riding for various reasons -- knee injury, family activities, partying with friends, travel -- and started riding again recently.

My ass hurts!

Maybe it's cuz I know what should and shouldn't hurt, but with the crap saddles that come with bikes these days, I'm surprised as many newbies transition to regular riders.

Hehe, this reminds of the time I tried out a new saddle (Selle SLR) on a century ride. If that wasn't bad enough, it was my first road ride in about a year. My "boys" didn't feel right for a few days.

wow, new saddle on a century? You're either hardcore or crazy! :)
Sella SMP. Greatest saddle ever.
I'd argue that the greatest saddle is the Brooks. Never been numb, never had sores or irritation.
