Pretty much self explainatory...At the beggining of the year they were advertising that mammoth would have both DS and MTX for the national championship and i have been hearing since just after snowshoe that this would not be the case.

I'm in the process of writing a strongly worded letter (F*CK YOU...nasty letter to follow) trying to get their reasoning and an attempt to put DS back. Obviously the more people who are for this idea and would be willing to boycott the MTX without DS would make a stronger point.

The more people/message boards that know about this the better so pass it on. any other individual letters that you would like sent can be sent to my email and will be forwarded with the petition.

Dude take a look at my post about what I think we should do at Mammoth on the Durango Mtn-X Tread. I thinks it's time we have a huge protest and tell these a'holes that we are tired of this kind of sh*t. Mammoth would be the perfect place! Get 1,000 pissed off riders at their doorstep and that might get our point across. Not just about Mtn-X/DS but all of our sports issues XC included. I'm serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They need to start answering to us... not the other way around.

At least we are trying to make a change. Not just sitting on the internet crying about how it all sucks. I have been racing Nationals for almost 11 years now. I have seen what it was, and what it has become. I have never quit no matter how bad it has gotton, but enough is enough. I hear people all the time "why isn't mountain biking this or that". Because WE have let it happen. Now that someone steps forward to do something the tone changes. Then when all this happens you will say "yeah I was behind those guys that started the Mammoth protest the whole time". If you cared about the sport as much as you claim than you would support this and not bash it.

Seriously though, the way you approach a situation is just as, if not more important. If we plan on making a statement at Mammoth we have to be organized and professional. No one is going to listen to a bunch of sweaty, loud, angry mountain bikers. An advocate with influence and position will be necessary along with a plan of action. You don't like people bitchin' at you...return the favor, be courteous and consider you are talking to other people with lives and families. Nobody is perfect and we can't do what we can't concieve. Obviously the people in charge now do not have the vision some of you do...DON'T waste your opportunity!! This IS the time to act, just act accordingly, not violently. Dual rules brah, snoocchie.

I am tryin to tell you that i have been on it...no...i repeat...no-one has been able to get ahold of bert...not planet x...not duncan riffle...or myself...i am doing the best i can but short of driving to SB and looking him up in a phone book im not sure there is much else i can do.

I also got a phone call from peter so he knows the situation and is getting an upgraded shock out of the deal.
