French Creek or Ridley if you want to take the wife/girlfriend... Haven't been to either in years... Jim Thorpe or Mt Gretna aren't far away... Ridley is closer to town...

I grew up riding Blue Marsh. Maybe it's lame by todays standards but I bet it's still good fast singletrack.

Check out Marsh Creek, as well as the already mentioned French Creek. I hear Wissahickon Park has good riding but I've never been.

If you ever want to come a little farther west, I'd be happy to show you around some of the stuff closer to me in Lancaster and York - Camp Mack in Brickerville and Rocky Ridge County Park in York. Gretna is good, but there isn't really all that much legal riding there anymore.

And hell, you should really come up to Mt. Penn and shuttle with us sometime. It's not that far.

Local717 should be chiming in pretty soon...

*edit: Definitely check out White Clay outside Newark, DE. It's a great place to rip smooth trails.

I rode there last fall. My buddy made it out to be like Mission impossible to avoid people. I never had any problems riding there. I got yelled at by a lady walking her dog in the parking area until she saw my NY plates and tried to sell me property. They live in Leesport. The whole Schuylkill valley is nice... I saw and panicked a Elk there. They shake the ground when they run... Amazing animals...

Blue Marsh is cool, Allentown has a little gem at Jordan Park, Bear Creek ski resort has about 8 miles of VERY technical trails. Lake Nockamixon has new trails (Quakertown area) as well as Trexler Game Preserve. Check out Valley Mountain Bikers website for Allentown/lehigh Valley stuff. Only about 45 minutes up the turnpike.

My problem with Allentown and the Lehigh valley is risk to reward. You may have a great ride but when you return back to your car it has been broken into and you have to deal with that hassle. Reading is like Rochester, not worth the hassle no matter how cool the riding is....

Mt Penn is in Reading and Reading is a high crime area. This is a known fact. Sorry about that...

My friend from Philly says Mt Penn is safe and I should the effin shut-up...

Hit me up when you want to check out Mt. Gretna. There is a lot more out there then people realize. Good place to ride a trailbike. We have a good mix of tech trails, plus "my" berm/double/dh trail!

Oh, and Gretna is easily accessible from the Turnpike...

Lived there for 5 years, never had any issues, pretty cool bike community, considering Rodale (Bicycling) is in Emmaus and the velodrome is there. Far more break ins down at Wissahickon than any where else.

I was going to Jim Thorpe with my Brother in a couple of weeks. I would have liked it there.
