Just for the record, and being from the area, the phrasing "in Chilcotin BC" is wildly wrong and originates in a rebranding of the area by one (count 'em, ONE) company, riffing off the enviro crowd's cooptation of "southern Chilcotin Ranges" morphed into "Southern Chilcotins" morphed into "South Chilcotin". But the area is *NOT* in "the Chilcotin, which is to the north of this area, which is part of the Bridge River Country, a subarea of the Lillooet Country. Unfortunately many visitors to the area, inundated by marketing hype and trendiness, in which the name "Chilcotin" is for whatever reason considered more trendy than "Lillooet" or "Bridge River". The area is also part of Stl'atl'imx/St'at'imc (Lillooet) territory, NOT Tsilhqot'in (Chilcotin) territory; in fact a war was fought over whose territory it was.

The usage "in Chilcotin BC" if properly used refers to the basin of the Chlicotin River and adjoining areas northward of the Chilcotin Plateau. Only those parts of the southern Chilcotin Ranges that are north of the Bridge River/Chilcotin divide are in the Chilcotin; but the guide-outfitting company and heliskiiing companies now marketing the area show little concern for history or community sentiment. I must stress to you that Tyaughton Lake, Gun Lake, Gold Bridge especially is NOT in the Chilcotin, nor is any of the basin of Tyaughton Creek or Gun Creek.

Not that you'll change your caption, or the dude ranch and heliski people will change their branding, but those of us from the area confronted by these terms find them alien and sorta offensive. It's like saying the Okanagan is part of the Kootenay, or vice-versa, or that the Sonoma is the Napa.

Great pix though.....
