I am trying to create a batch of thumbnails from images and keep them connected via example1.jpg to thm_example1.jpg

However, when it runs the batch, it doesn't go in order, but randomly picks out full size jpgs and puts them in random order in the thumbnail folder.

Hopefully that was clear. It's very frustrating, can anybody help?

Thanks!!

A batch in photoshop runs the same command or group of commands for a large batch of images, hence the name. Simple concept, not always easy to use though.

BAH - what version of photochop are you using? Also, a lot of times depending on what I am doing, I find it easy to just make my own custom batch procedure. But why yours is doing it randomly I dunno.

I'll see if I can explain myself better.

I take a folder with images named wedding,wedding2,wedding3,wedding4 etc. and want to make them all thumbnails in another folder and match them to their bigger images by naming them thm_wedding,thm_wedding2, thm_wedding3 etc.

I run the batch and it works, but instead of grabbing them in order in the first folder, it picks them out randomly and so (for instance) the thumbnail named thm_wedding does NOT match the image wedding in the first folder. Why would it do that??????#(*#@$)(*$@#$@#

derek, Not sure exactly what your batch does, but it is screwed up.

Create a new batch. resize the image, append thm_ to it, and save as. Close file and stop recording. Then it will grab wedding1, resize it and make it thm_wedding1. No problems.

Very cool, so I could resize 100 pictures in a couple minutes or so using this right? Also how would I go about doing this?

Thanks for putting up with my lack of knowledge.

Not sure what the issue is..just have the batch append the thm_ and name the image files the way you want. Then the order will not matter.
