Yeah, I have a picture of a buddy I met up there named Brad hanging upside down from his bike from when he fell off that skinny, curvy section of CBC! Those trails are another animal from what biking is in the USA, Ned's, CBC, Boogieman, all the drops, logs, skinies, that whole Mt Seymore area along with Mt Frome and the Woodlot are the top trails I have ever seen.
That curved skinny we built is in the piedmont of North Carolina, not a spectacular place to ride, but a few stunts did liven it up a bit.
Another thought, Hulkamaniac railroad ties make for good skinies if you have access to some around the ski resort, and they are chemically treated to last forever. We used railroad ties before the teeter on this stunt. (and no, it doesn't go over a wet section at all )
Whistler of the east is a huge stretch for snowshoe. Its cool that Snowshoe is stepping up, but before you claim to be a whistler of the east you might want to have the product to back it up...I mean arent there only a handful of DH trails? Both Diablo and Plattekill are years ahead of snowshoe.....I heard Diablo is adding 4 top-to-bottom jump lines...Someone said that the person that designs the terrain park at Mountain Creek is also the person that designs and manaages the bike park. If the bike park turns out anything like the terrain park, its going to be hard for anyone to match that...
Also, the stuff at snowshoe looks really fake, wide, not cool....Ladders & bridges are fun, but when you are totally ripping off the northshore, thats ghey. You should build freeride features that enhance the natural terrain, not build boardwalks in the middle of the woods. You might as well put up conscession stands next to those things.....damn!
Having a goal to be whistler of the east would be to assume that they will one day be better thank pkill or Diablo since whistler dominates everyone. Snowshoe does the same thing in the winter, they claim to have the east coasts best terrain parks, and actually they are kind of silly. Snowshoe is known to be very hyperactive when it comes to marketing spin.
That was more constructive and informative and I am sure you are right it will never be Whistler.
Despite all the hype or not I going down there the weekend of May 28 with three other riders from NYC. Then I will get back with my review of the place.
CBC is a killer trail, last time i had rode it they built aberm outta rocks just like that trail pic. The shore has some killer wood/rock work around. How many of you guys have ridden the shore?...Im curious how far peeps have traveled to ride it. Im sure all over the world...but Im curious about fellow monkeys....

*raises hand*...it was the icing on the cake after Whistler last year. Traveled there from the DC area. The irony is that I used to live in Seattle, just two hours away from Vancouver, but never rode up there until after moving to the opposite coast .
I'm really looking forward to Snowshoe over Memorial Day weekend.

I live in Ct. I took my first trip to Whistler last summer. I should have waited until this summer with the addition of the Garbanzo lift oh well, I guess I'll just have to go back again!
