These HAVE to be made by Nicolai right? they just have too many redundant pieces not to be.Ugh:

I built a bike up with TNT hubs and kooka cranks back in the day. It was 22lbs in '97, which isn't too bad. I wanted Nuke proof hubs because they were carbon, but wasn't able to get them. Thats one thing I liked about mtb back in the mid 90s, there were lots of small companies producing odds and endsthings I dreamed of when I was a kid:
nuke proof hubs
kooka cranks
HED rims
magura raceline D's
clubroost/gofast riser bars
cannondale super v DH w/ fox alps 5r a stupid headshock moto fork.
I think someone bought out the company name......the springs are coming from the U.K aren't they?Oooh, HED 45A rims, they were soooooooooo nice! And yeah, I always wanted Nuke Proof stuff too
Nuke Proof do a line in ti springs now, dunno if they make anything else.
The Nuke Proof name has been sold a whole bunch of times since they were actually making stuff. When I was with a previous company, they approached us about selling it, no dice.I think someone bought out the company name......the springs are coming from the U.K aren't they?
saw one of those yesterday....I ended up getting one of these instead:
Pretty much identical to the picture. Back then it was rated as one of the top 4 DH bikes. Lopes had two of them with two(!) of the four existing pairs of BoXXers...
Lopes has never owned a carbon LTS. And when he did ride Boxxers (96'-98') the forks were more plentiful than 4 pairs.I remember my LBS getting one of these:
Man, did I want it.

bump!does anyone have any more pics of that first stab de lux with the monster t?
they used to run this add of a guy riding a snowy ladder bridge i remember drooling over the bike at that point...does anyone possibly have this?
..but it has an extra top tube!I would be scared to ride this bike
I think that is the bike I saw the stocktons turn into a wet noodle.something like 10 years ago I almost bought a bike with this frame...
Kestrel Rubicon ... but mine woule be the DH version, with 2 shock, both FOX Alps 5R... 7.6" of travel.
The bike had full 97 XTR group, Speed Freak rims and RST Hi-Five fork.
Then MBAction of the time lied to me. I remember being excited that I had the same bike as Lopes.Lopes has never owned a carbon LTS. And when he did ride Boxxers (96'-98') the forks were more plentiful than 4 pairs.
I wanted one of those bikes when they came out becuase I could race XC on it and then put on the second shock and race DH! Anyone ever ride one? I'm curious as to how it rodesomething like 10 years ago I almost bought a bike with this frame...

Ya, Marla, Andrew and Leah Garcia....Yeah she was, with Andrew Shandro i think. I remember watching "The Ride Guide" on TV & those other programs they used to air back in the day !
