Yeah, that bike is messed up. The eye to eye on the shock looks off too... the bb should not be anywhere near that high.lolpocalypse, 2x9 setup on a dh8? oh lawd
Might just be the 888s set up tall. That bike was built for 6" Boxxers No? With a steepish head angle. The eye to eye on the shock looks off too... the bb should not be anywhere near that high.
you're right, that could be it.Might just be the 888s set up tall. That bike was built for 6" Boxxers No? With a steepish head angle.
there was multiple e-t-e lengths for those pull shocks??The eye to eye on the shock looks off too...
Not sure, but eyeballing the angles between the rear links and the seat tube kind of suggested that. It's been a long time since I had that bike.there was multiple e-t-e lengths for those pull shocks??
It was built around a 7" boxxer/Manitou noodle (can't remember the name of the carbon DH fork). The collar on the shock allowed for adjustible i2i, because the collar was a separate piece from the shock collar. It did not have stops for a derailluer, but you can put on the aftermarket clamp on cable ends.Might just be the 888s set up tall. That bike was built for 6" Boxxers No? With a steepish head angle.
Not all of the latter frames had the linkage. You actually had to order that in addition, at least from Yeti. I ran mine without the linkage because I liked the liner feel. The original Straight8s had Super Deluxe rear shocks, the later models had the DKG linkage and Pro Deluxe shock with piggyback. He's got no linkage but the latter shock, which might be throwing the geo off.
Ah, I see. Everything I've seen suggested that with the drop of the bassboat gold/black color scheme and the adoption of the red/white stripes, came the addition of the linkage and the prodeluxe. I'll see if I can host up some images later, I have a serious collection of old and obscure. Not all of the latter frames had the linkage. X-vert!It was built around a 7" boxxer/Manitou noodle (can't remember the name of the carbon DH fork).
Boom:Does anyone have a picture of the DH frame Profile Racing made circa 2001-2003?
It was pretty cool, Lawill design with BB concentric pivot if I recall. Never saw one in real life...
Twisting seatpost? Reminds me of the Spooky Project-X (I think that was it's name) Anybody got a picture of one?Add to that the twisting seatpost setup, and the bike was a disaster.
Reality is not important, that bike was awesome! The had some "issues" with suspension interaction during braking.

went the way of the dodo. no clue as to the exact details tho. What ever happened to the PDC racing kids?
That bottom one is 3rd generation bike- notice there's a normal seatube stump?
moved on to 4x4 parts fabrication last i heard (more lucrative). i still have my 8.25; now in slammed aggro all-mountain / mini dh mode.went the way of the dodo. no clue as to the exact details tho.
