[Bog Dogs]

Since a large number of BMX riders spend at least some time at their local track as a rider, racer or volunteer, I thought it made sense to have a thread where they could promote it.

My local track is Charlotte BMX, located in Punta Gorda, Florida. We are currently undergoing renovations that will make the track a little shorter but a lot faster. I have pictures and updates on my blog so that visiting riders know what's going on.

We just held the first race of the year on the new track and it was a huge success. I've never seen the parking lot so full. If anyone happens to be in the Fort Myers area be sure to check out Charlotte BMX.

The big starting hill is still there and yes the 'decision' has been put back into place. They had a different layout for the past six years since the Hurricane but now you can go either under or over the bridge like you used to. New asphalt is being set in the corners today.

I went to a track council meeting at Cape Coral BMX (Florida) and they have voted to redesign their track as well. They are planning to hire the same people who worked on Charlotte as well as many others in FL. You can read the whole story at: Bog Dogs Race Report.
