My boy runs 1 1/8 tires on his redline mini. He just started jumping out in the street with blocks of wood, and a piece of plywood. the problem is he keeps pinch flatting. other that upping the tire pressure even more (over 50lbs). does anyone have any ideas that may help.

will 1 3/8 tires fit his wheels?

don't use tire levers to put th tire back on.

what do tire levers have to do with anything? he's flatting from landing to hard on one wheel. and he's not quite big enough for the lecture about pulling up of the jump, and landing on the back tire. I'm just stoked that he started jumping.

tire levers don't have anything to do with pinch flats, i think he was just trying to say you need to make sure part of the tube isn't caught in between the tire and the rim, but if you can inflate it to 50psi w/o it popping then that is not an issue. if you can find tires with thicker sidewalls that would be the best, but also slime tubes might help.

sidewall says 85psi. I thought they said 35, but hadn't looked at them in a long time.

You can normally go quite a bit over what it says on the sidewall anyway, even with cheap tyres.

slime tubes won't help, air it up to 85 and flats shouldn't be a problem, if they are you need thicker tires

Stiffer tire sidewalls, possibly? More air is the best solution though.

I'm pretty sure air pressure was the problem. I would have sworn the tires where only rated at 35 and thought I was way over at 50psi, but turns out I was under by 30.....
