just so you know...if you plan on riding in Pisgah this weekend, give yourself a good 45 minutes to 1 hour of extra time to get your ride done.
I can't possibly express just how many trees are down just on the dirt road in Bent Creek. The windstorms combined with the super drenched soil from 2 weeks of flooding hurricanes has left the place blasted.
It took me 30 minutes to climb the flat dirt road from Riceville Rd to Side Hill. Granted the Forest Service will no doubt start clearing trees soon, but not on the trail proper...just the fire roads.
Not being a negative nancy, which I am, just giving forewarning to plan appropriately.
