Whoa...

I'm assuming he was white, so this clearly isn't a case of terrorism, right?

Seems like a left leaning McVeigh type to me.

It was RenegadeRick trying to prove that the government had to have planted explosives in the WTC to bring it down. See, this other plane didn't make the buildings fall!!

Riding past the morgue.
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that President Obama was briefed on the Austin plane crash this afternoon. Gibbs said that Homeland Security is investigating all angles but the incident does not appear to be terrorism.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said it was "apparently a criminal act." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/18/austin-plane-crash-office_n_467264.html
WTF is the difference? Cause he was white its not "terrorism"? Why are we splitting hairs here?

I'd give something of somewhat relevant worth yet not overly valuable to be watching fox news right now.
Watching right now. :D

The link you posted only shows a portion of the 'manifesto' ... apparently it is six pages in total. edit: scratch that, never mind.

Yeah, just like no one considers McVeigh a terrorist 'cuz he was white.

When are you going to let go of the self-hate, Mr. White American? It's gotta hurt, or at least be boring by now. You whip out the race card so often you must wear through 15 of them a year. Do you own your own race card laminating machine?

Does it laminate in multiple tints so you can hide the white paper underneath, pretending it's a shade of yellow, red, or brown?

In college, my buddy steve actually made and laminated a race card. He would play it every so often. It was funny cuz he was black

Are you telling me this same quote would exist if he were Afghani/Saudi/African of any sort?

If so, I disagree.

"If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, 'Why did this have to happen?,'" he wrote. "The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time." He ends, "I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well."

Wow. Just, wow.

Yah, they'd be trying to avoid the term if it was Osama-bin-****ing-Laden himself behind the yoke. Admitting we just got hit by a terrorist is not a good thing for the Department of Homeland Security, especially right now.

Even if it was an international terrorist, they'd be trying to prove he was just a psycho without religious or political motivation.

But that's all BS. And the idea that the USG won't consider someone a terrorist because he's white is patent bull****.

The USG will consider anyone it finds to be politically expedient a terrorist. Because "terrorist" is largely (or entirely) a political label anyhow.

Why can't I self-hate?

Besides which, there are a lot of people in this country who consider guys like McVeigh and Rudolph misguided patriots and not terrorists. You've never noticed that?

So where in the timeline of political efficiency do we get to call this guy one?

Because he certainly is.
I bet, somewhat ironically, the right-wingers trot it out about the white guy so that they can accuse the black guy in the Oval Office of being as soft, evil, and incompetent as they think he is.

I'm not about to wade through 6 pages of whackjob, but nothing I've read so far puts his goal as forcing political change...he seems to be expressing his anger at the .gov and soothing his self-loathing at the same time...

But unless he's trying to actually accomplish a particular political goal with his act, you could argue on semantics that it's not *actually* terrorism.

Whatever it is, though, it was most definitely a dude flying a plane into a building. That's where I stand on the issue.

My prediction: according to the Tea Baggers and Faux newz, this guy will be called a patriot or "martyr for the cause". At that point, we will have come full circle.

But wait......he criticizes their favorite monkey in cheif!

I actually predict the opposite from fox.

You might be right on with the tea bagging (I can't even type that without laughing), straight men patriot tea bagger men tea bagging.

Well.....that pretty much applies to everyone who gets the term thrown at them doesn't it?
Ahhh, have you ever read any of AQ/USBE's greatest hits? They're full of political goals. So was Arafat. So was the Red Army Faction, etc. etc.

Yeah, yeah I know all that. How does flying a plane into a building or blowing up a US naval ship accomplish those political domestic goals?

They really don't.

Just like this retard and his ideas for a reformed tax structure.

Keep reading. There's lot of political ranting in there. It's disjointed and lacks a coherent thesis, granted, but it's as political as a suicide bomber who leaves a note about the dirty Jews and then blows up a cafe in Tel Aviv.

RAF, now there's a blast from the past.

(Get it...blast? Nevermind...no one under 30 will have any idea what the RAF was, or they'll google it and figure that we're talking about the British Air Force.)

Well, whether they fail or succeed, there's an intent to force a government to change its policies or face future attacks, and/or scare the populace into voting the desired policy changes into place etc. etc. And it's worked in some cases, too.

However, seems like our man at the helm of this crazy train (plane?) was in fact trying to force a political change, so I guess we can call him a terrorist. Or at least a wannabe terrorist...
