The wife and I and a friend or two (Slugman, are you reading this?!?!?) are planning a trip to Mammoth to do some riding, but here’s the thing; I’m low on cash. Is there a campground in the immediate area that anyone can recommend (I figure I can save on accommodations…). I don’t mind “roughing it” but after a day of riding and crashing I need a place that has a shower.

Any names, numbers, or links are greatly appreciated!

Stay in the National Forest for free and bathe in the hot springs.

Right in town, there's Shady rest campground. Not scenic, but central. Then up at the lakes, there's a couple campgrounds in very beautiful settings. More camping at June Lake and south from Mammoth off the old highway. Not sure which have showers.

Get on the web; look at National forest camping.

Yeah what he said. The camping right on the way into town is nice and would be your best bet probly.

Lake Mary has a good camp ground.
