i really want to know who makes their wheels. they look like American Classics...but AC uses Zipp rims. there's no way a pair of wheels built with Zipps can be so cheap. maybe they're relabeled Flash Points?

uhm - The Planet X Pro Carbon 50 Wheelset features deep dish (50mm) tubular rims. The Pro Carbon 50 rims are built with Shimano compatible 16/24 hole American Classic hubs and Aero Taiwan spokes.

I forget the mfr of those rims, but a lot of companies are using them. Cole Wheels uses the same people I think, same finish too, but they call it "Organic Carbon."
I've got a set of the Cole wheels with the 50mm (and a set of 38mm and a set of 85mm) rims, and they're fantastic wheels. Can't speak for the Planet-X wheels, as the hub and build quality have so much to do with a good wheel, but the rims are nice.
Do yourself a favor though, get some SwissStop Yellow King brake pads. SOOOO much better than the cork ones, and work better in the wet, etc. Best upgrade for a set of carbon wheels. You can actually stop from high speeds with them.

the more I look at those wheels, the more I think that they look like Easton/ Reynolds rims.
Nope. They're sourced out of Taiwan. Easton used to use Zipp rims, but they have their own now. Totally different rim shape too, not bad looking at all.

The older Eastons were 58mm I think.
Trust me, they're not any major name, at least that consumers know of, big OEM though. All those little wheel mfr's that have carbon rims use them, well, a lot of them do anyway. I can try and take some pics of the wheels I have, you can see the same finish on them.
Easiest to see on the 85mm deep model.
