I havn't had it happen from the hud on a game or anything. The longest I have had it on was about 20 hours nothing happened. And as far as time goes I have had mine for about 2 years playing a ton.
No, were thinking abuot buying one & i was wondering if it was easy to damage a plasma or not..
Here is what the reminder says i found online..
Avoid image burn-in
Displaying the same stationary patterns over extended periods of time, such as black bars, stock tickers, video games, or shopping channel logos and pricing displays, can leave a permanent ghost image (burn-in). Avoid this by mixing your viewing patterns. Do not show the same stationary image for more than 15% of your total TV viewing in any one week.
Your warranty does NOT cover screen burn-in.
Plasmas WILL burn in. Some of the newer, higher end ones do funny things to delay the invetiable, but it WILL happen eventually as the screen uses phosphores to display the images.
High end LCD will cost more than a similiarly sized plasma if you hit the 40-42 and higher mark. If you don't go high end, you will save money but have much lower contrast, muddy blacks and not great color much of the time.
