i know, i know, stupid question time, but what can i say, i have faith that 's know. does anyone know if plattekill will be running the lifts to the general public on saturday, because of all the hoopdy going on with MTV? i have a chance to go down on saturday, and i know the collegiate DH race is sunday morning, so i imagine they'll all be practicing on saturday. thanks!

Yes they are open to everybody. Just bring a light since saturday is the night ride.

They run both lift sometimes. The last couple times i was there they switched lifts half way throught the day. They should be running both lifts this weekend but you never know until you get there.

What a cluster P-Kill is going to be this weekend. They're having DH, DS, and XC racing as well as collegiate racing (why I'll be there). There's going to be night downhilling and non-racers riding, as well as MTV recording the collegiate race.

Sounds like it's going to be a fun time.

Isn't Platekill supposed to be the most technical/difficult stuff around? Many a bike writing off has taken place there.

I dunno about "the most technical/difficult". I thought Bootleg was just as difficult, and some of the stuff down Garbanzo was just as difficult. Maybe the reason for Plattekill's rep is that there are no easy trails down the hill, once you go up the lift you better know how to ride.

I hope so, although now that DHS called me out saying I never show up for stuff (yeah I'll compare miles driven to ride this year with ANYONE, that's right ANYONE) maybe I'll bail just because I don't wanna miss the REPORT though
