What do you think about folks using paint ball guns to shoot at cars and passerbys?

My issue is with the snowballer's lack of respect for other personal space. Just because it's a snowball doesn't make it anymore right in my mind. But I tend to have respect for others.

It's a freeking paintball.

That is fired by compressed co2 at 200mph travelling 300 feet per second.

Yes, getting hit by a snowball by surprise is a rude act. The proper response is to ball up some snow and fire back. Tackling the thrower into a snowbank is also appropriate although somewhat overly aggressive.

Pulling your handgun just makes you seem like an overaggressive douche.

Do tell:
Boston Massacre said:
He continued his complaints, and the civilians began throwing snowballs at Goldfinch. Gerrish also exchanged insults with Private White, who left his post, challenged the boy, and then struck him on the side of the head with a musket. As Gerrish cried in pain, one of his companions, Bartholomew Broaders, began to argue with White. This attracted a larger crowd.

Let me guess, you were homeschooled and weren't allowed to play in the snow.

Try making that argument when you have a snowball size dent in your fender. Or a broken window. (Have seen both)
In grade school I saw a kid loose a few teeth from a snowball to the face.

Maybe you have warm and fuzzy feelings about nice people throwing loosly packed snowballs at people with the best of intentions.
But there are vindictive pricks all around.

The cop pulling the gun should probably get his badge pulled.
Doesn't mean the idiots that decided a mass snowball fight in the streets are without fault. What, no parks around?

There are surprisingly few parks in the DC metro area.

but there are no hummers to hit there!

Also, the national mall is over a mile from where the incident took place. May not seem like much, but in DC traffic in the middle of a snowstorm, or by foot...
It's also not where the hipsters like to hang out at

One time a bunch of kids grabbed my hitch rack to skitch.

Should I have backed up on them to teach them how to respect personal property?

You're coming up with all kinds of hypotheticals. All we know, and I'm pretty sure it is all that happened, is that a Hummer got hit by a few snowballs without damage to the vehicle, and a detective pulled his piece.

Let me give you another hypothetical:

Did pulling his gun magically heal any dents?

And by pulling his gun, has the lesson been taught to the country to be more respectful to drivers during a snowstorm? Or there are plenty of psychos out there?

Cause I know he if just went home, he might be be mad, he might have to pay for bodywork, but he still have his job.

Public school k-12, a bachelors, and masters. I live in the South.

I offered my opinion and you proceeded to insults. :thumb:
You just have your panties in a bundle. Its a freakin' snowball fight dude. Yea, it was dumb for them to hit cars, but it was a major lapse in judgement for him to pull his gun. And HUGE overreaction.

Its like bringing a coffee to a knife fight.
