I haven't watched the video from this year, but last year someone in the big crowd after the lower step down (that wasn't used this year) had a start list and convinced everyone to be completly silent for the next rider coming down. The next rider turned out to be JD, who happened to have a flat. The section was packed with spectators and all you could hear was *ping* clank* ping* as his rear wheel bounced off the rocks!
They also convinced everyone to boo for one of the local (good humored) shop owners. I think I could deal with the silence, but having a hundred people booing you in your race run would be a mind f*ck

If i heard silence i would be wondering how slow or what i did wrong. There is usually at least 1 guy who will at least say wha-hoo
When you're as slow as me it's usually pretty quiet
I'd wonder if I lost my hearing when I smacked the tree back at the double
^^ Because registration for NW Cup races is handled through CCN.
CCN isn't CycBC though....
I guess that would be confusing, never thought of it.....
Our awesome timing crew is from Canada and they use BC Cycling equipment. Believe it or not, it is hard to find a timing service in our area.
