Went to a wine/beer tasting event on Friday.

Sampled some fine brews from Berkshire Brewing Company and also sampled a couple of different Port wines that were excellent!

One was a "younger" port and it went great with some dark chocolate they had to taste with it. The second was a 10 year old port and that went great with some dried fruit they provided to taste with it.

So...........can anyone recommend me a good port or two to try out that won't break the bank??

In a van.... down by the river
mark, try sandeman's reserve. it's about $15 a bottle, and excellent. serve w/ some stilton and a handful of walnuts.

:D
Speaking of walnuts - on our bi-annual Fruita Family Weekend we ran across a black walnut tree with $hitloads of ripe ones. I climbed up the tree and shook at a bit and it positively rained walnuts. The kiddos went nuts (figuratively and literally) gathering them.

We had walnuts on our apricot cobbler (cooked in a dutch oven) and each family brought home a gallon Ziploc bag full.

Mmmm.......... walnuts.....
