Driving from portland to whistler in the summer time how many hours should it take? Also, are there any trains that take you from portland to whistler?

Portland to Whistler driving time.

I would say 6.5-7hrs with no dealys.Realalistic time 8hrs,traffic,boarder crossing,food and gas stops.Driving from portland to whistler in the summer time how many hours should it take?
from bham it takes 2.5-3hrs. the southern washington border is about 250 miles away, so 6.5hrs seems faster than possible, unless your drive fast and have no wait at border and no stops along the way. 7.5-8hr seems reasonable and what you should plan for.
Figure in some extra for the Sea to Sky Highway, and DO NOT arrive in Vancouver any where near rush hour or you can add at least an extra 2 hours.
In ideal conditions I break it down like this (in reverse):
Whistler to Vancouver 1.5 hours
Vancouver to US border ~1.25 hours
US border to Seattle ~2 hours
Seattle to Portland ~3 hours
This does not include border wait times, weather, construction or traffic delays (which are always present in some form or another).
