Possibly the worst Sci-Fi movie ever

Tweek

I Love Cheap Beer!
And I say "possibly" only because "Plan 9 from Outer Space" was made.
Anyway, caught part of it last night on Movieplex. It's called The Guyver and it "stars" Mark Hamill. Words cannot describe how awful this movie is, but I'll try. The acting was hackneyed, at best, with clichéd lines and characters. Nobody's part was believeable, the character action and interaction was completely unnatural and unrealistic, and the effects were cheesier than the entire state of Wisconsin. It had everything you need for a formulaic bad flick: Sinister bad guy leader with a ghoulish face, his tall, bald weird-looking henchman (portrayed by that guy who played the prinicpal in Motley Crue's "Smokin' in the Boys Room" video), and the female and male leads that you could give a damn about whether they live or die. Oh, and did I mention Jimmie "JJ" Walker's in it too? Oh, yes he is, and you better believe he gets to say "Dy-no-MITE!!"
Just recalling it again makes me feel all sicky. :blah:

Anyone else witness to this pile o' crap?

I have no specific movies to reference but I have recently had my eyes opened to how much bad chit their is out there. I generally only watch sports and Discover/History channel garbage. With relatives visiting I am now exposed to a much wider variety of crap on television. I am completely dumbfounded as to how people can watch that stuff let alone how people can earn big $$$ making it. I secretly hope that I am a different species.

ok, they aren't sci-fi but the worst two movies I have seen lately were on the same night at the drive-in. Yes, the drive-in shows two movies for the price of one.

Beginning of August I went with a group of people to see The Village and King Arthur.

Let me just say, thank the LORD we smuggled in a case of beer because I was ready to walk home half-way through the first movie.

For the record, Westy, I agree. I was just trying to fill the time between 10:35 and the start of The Daily Show. Flipping around and then... "hey, that guy looks like Luke Skywalker." And the rest was like watching a horrible, disfiguring, bring-out-the-jaws-of-life car accident.

I dunno, I'm thinking The Guyver 2 was worse. Starship Troopers 2 was horrible, managed 20 minutes on that turd.

EEEEK! Starship Troopers 2????

I'm sorry somebody stole that 20 minutes from your life you'll never get it back.

I wonder if you could file a class action lawsuit. Calculate how much your time is worth and sue 'em. :thumb: It's the american way right?

Hey - none of them can be as bad as 90% of what is on "The WB" - it scares me to think that their are enough stupid people walking around to make that pile of sh1t station profitable.

Death Race 2000 - now that's a classic Sci-Fi movie.

Enough of it to realize I was witnessing the absolute worst story and acting ever committed to film -- about 25 minutes.
Well, at least you didn't watch the whole thing. I was going to have to include you in my 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of humanity had you finished it. ;)

i actually liked the 1st starship troopers but can't comment on the sequel.

at any rate, it *can't* be as bad as weekend at bernie's 2, at least conceptually.

Not a movie, but SpikeTV has MXC on a couple times a week. The stunt competitions are kinda funny, but the voice-over commentators are hilarious.

Yeah I liked the first one but I'd be scared to see the second. I enjoy bad movies but sometimes they just go too far.

Do you get TBS where you live? I think it's a turner cable channel called the superstation it's our local channel 17. They'll plan some horrible sh!t like weekend at Bernies 2, and then play it in an "encore" presentation right after.

Really anybody here seen Corvette Summer?

Where Luke Skywalker is a high school kid that builds this pimped out Vette in HS shop that gets stolen. He chases it out to Vegas and finds adventure, love and romance.

I don't want to spoil it. It's a classic. I highly recommend watching that and following it up with Death Race 2000!

LOL! Ever seen the 80's sci-fi series that they made from Douglas Adam's "Hitchhikers Guide"?

I saw the first installment of it last night and it was so damn funny, worst sci-fi effects ever.

However, Mark Hamill + ANYTHING = bad.
