So DJing last week I landed on my back tire a couple times and bruised my gut a bit. Now the bruises have healed, and there's knots of something under the skin where the bruises were...They aren't really painful or anything...I just don't like lumps. Should I run to the ER screaming "hernia", "cancer", or "the clap"?

are those lumps soft or hard? and do they get bigger if you cough or "bear down"? if they are hard and do not get bigger with coughing then....

my guess is that they're hematomas...or simply put, pockets of clotted blood underneath the skin where you bruised yourself. and sometimes hematomas will not get absorbed and become calcified.

nothin too serious medically, just aesthetically wierd

could be muscle adhesions from your fall. i would check them with your doc and if they are "nothing" then i would recommend some regular massages...if they are adhesions from tearing your ab muscles...regular massages could get rid of them.

and regular massage could also aid in better flexibility for better DJ experiences.

I have the same thing (I think anyway) in my thigh, and calf from a couple of vicious falls I took a while back. I wish they would go away!

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
ooh!
like the "man that exploded" or whatever he was...

dude did too many steroids and took fluid out by himself...

:bonk:
Gregg Valentino

Valentino was featured in "The Man Whose Arms Exploded", a TLC documentary highlighting the use and abuse of steroids. In the documentary he recalls his misuse of steroids, namely not taking precautions necessary to prevent infection. Consequently he eventually came down with a very serious infection of his right biceps. After failed attempts to drain the hematoma himself, using the same needles he used to inject his steroids, and "filling two glasses with blood and pus" he sought emergency medical treatment. Ultimately his arm was saved, at the cost of a significant reduction in the size and shape of the biceps.
I bet it would have worked better with the marinade injector.

I have an idea:

If you have a medical question, ask a bunch of smart ass stooges on a mountain bike forum.

I'm now convinced I'm storing sperm in my belly fat. :greedy:

WebMD and Google were kind of useless, was just curious if this had happened to anyone else. My first thought was "hernia?", but I couldn't find any information on if an impact can force one...Guess I'll go to the doctor if it hasn't gone away in a week or so.

You should post for me, so I don't ever become associated with Texas.

I actually know and occasionally ride with an ER doc on a local forum...I should consult him.

Graphics: Why would I go get my belly massaged when I don't know what's wrong? It might just be me, but having someone knead what could possibly be my intestines seems like a bad idea.

It might just be me, but asking anyone on RM about a problem with what could possibly be your intestines seems like a bad idea.

On that note:

Stab at it with a protractor and see if any baby batter squirts out.
