I saw the torn ass cheek, it was nasty. In terms of pain, duration of healing and long term effect, I think yours will be hard to top. Not to take anything away from bibs' ass cheeck, I'm sure it curtailed some ass slapping for a while.

Except for the time I crashed so hard that my femur lodged underneath my shoulderblade. That one hurt. I should start carrying a camera.

nah, I asked some passerby to tug on my ankle and rode home. It still get a little sore when the pressure drops.

Seriously, I can't even open this thread without wanting to hurl. I have a pretty weak stomach (see my poo story) and I can't take those pictures. I hope this thread dies a quick death because I'm going to be too tempted to keep looking.

i think that as riders we should be able to have to show and tell about or experiences. Thats the purpose of this thread.
I also think that there are some great revelations to have when injured seriously and i know that there are several people on here with much worse injuries than me and i would love to hear where they are today and what they learned and thought about during the healing time.

Damnit! I can't keep from opening this thread. What the hell?

Right now I'm in DC, later tonight I'll be home in Gaithersburg and over the weekend I'll be at my other home with my wonderful fiancee in the redneck wonderland, Frederick.

You've been lucky my friend. May your luck continue indefinitely. Coincidentally, I've been eating some chocolate covered pretzels I picked up from Harry & David last night. Why do my hands now look so disgustingly familliar?

I've had the usual scrapes and stuff, nothing too special (knock on wood).

My friend (sup Jordan) though had an interesting one a couple summers ago. Somehow he crashed, endoed, and landed on the handlebar end with his sternum. Blah blah, couldn't breathe, went to the ER and find out he had a bruised sternum and heart. Ouch.

Thank God! Now I can go directly to the second page.

For real though, I've thankfully never been seriously injured while riding. I broke a toe once riding trials on some jersey walls...truly just a few uncomfortable weeks. I broke a metatarsomething another time when I missed a gap (trials again) between a few rocks. Just another few weeks of discomfort. I've torn a meniscus in both knees and stretched my ACL's to the point where I have more than 1cm of movement for/aft in my knees. All have just caused comparively mild discomfort when you compare them to nearly swallowing your wrist and recreating the San Andreas in your ass.

3 broken meditarsals (foot bones) from overshooting a table at Whistler and bailing. The best part was it happened in the last hour of possible riding time there for me :). Unfoutunitly I am still feeling the effects of it now (happend in August) :(

Well you all know that when your screwing around on your bike in a parking lot and you see a alpine slide you have to ride down it. Not a spart idea, knee hit the round edge, and literly bursts open, muscle hanging out of my leg, entire knee cap showing, my friend wouldent let me take pics until it got sewed up, it was pretty gross. Ended up needing 18 top stiches a bunch under neath and surgery to pull out part of the cap i chiped off.

heres some after surgey pics, i opened it enough they dident have to cut any.

Well most of you know about mine. Happened last November 21st. I was hospitalized for a week and could not walk unassisted for 6 weeks. I still have a pin that needs to be removed and now my bike skills suck big time. I guess it could have been worse....D

Holy OUCH! Man your break makes mine look like a walk in the park. :shudders:

Did this April 05:

Dislocation of my left foot 90degrees to the left. Comminuted fracture of the fibula and a distal fracture of the tibia (broke off about 20% of the joint head vertically).
