Pictures do not do this bike justice. And now its all dirty so oh well.

Its a size L with steel spring (for now) and FR tubes under DH casing tires = 40lbs even.

The faster I go, the better it rides! :D

Rad, what is it? Does it have a Horst link as such?
Works Components do an angle set for 1 1/8th I think if you want to slacken it out. Just looks sorta steepish. How does it ride?
Draco Vigilante. They're a little NY company that mostly made DJ bikes but did a few prototype DH bikes before the guys that ran it got real jobs and the company disbanded. It's steel, and not a horst link at all- it's a short link 4 bar. Rides brilliantly, leverage curve is pretty linear, slightly progressive. Rearward axle path to a bit past sag before it starts to come back. I'll see if I have pictures of the other side when I'm not on my phone. It does look oddly steep there but isn't- about 63.5 degrees. Biggest oddity of the geo is the BB at 12.9". It works well for my riding style though. Very very planted, doesn't jump especially well but nor do I, it begs to go faster over everything, and fits me really, really well. Very very happy with it.

Cheers to Toodles for keeping the bike running after it was thoroughly thrashed in the Canada trip.

Play Bike

Doing a fair bit of XC on it - not ideal but fun on the downhill sections.

More importantly, please tell me those pics were taken in your kitchen and not a local Steak & Shake joint.

+1 for checkerboard flooring...

Killer fuggin bike btw...Love the black 40 on there! So I presume you're parting ways with the Kalula? Regardless, hopefully the new rig will allow you clear the mega triple at Beech that Herndon came up short on :thumb:

Yep. Just like Bob Dole, I am now 100% wood free. The kalula has a new home. I needed to get back on a pure DH bike, and get back to business.
Oh, and I have seen the length of that area where that triple is. I want exactly zero part of that.

Now with added K9.

375lb Steel Race Spring (400g) and Thrust Bearings. Not bad considering my 350lb Ti spring was 360g, for less than half the price!

How does the spring feel in comparison to the Ti, and what about the thrust bearings? Cheers! Nice build!
Feels great, springy. I'm not a believer in Ti being magically more springy than steel, I know on people think it is but I can't feel any difference.:)

The thrust bearings however I can feel a difference. Its not massive, but the shock does move more freely, and its noticeable. I've had the Obtainium bearing in the past with the same result.

That's because their is no difference, you are correct. The bearings do make a difference.

DJ'er to come later this year. New DH rig and CX bike next season when I'm not healing from breaks, and racing again.

Got bored of the red/white, so got it stealthed out in black.

Didn't post up my original build, but a few new things:
Swapped to Formula's from Avid Elixir's.
Trying out a 28mm Straitline stem.
(Un)Obtanium 400 ti spring.
Got a good deal on the Sun Ringle Eq31's, trying them out compared to 721's.

If you want to look at it like that, but it was my choice. Got it done by someone who knows their stuff, besides all the proto ones were anno'd as well, I can't see it breaking any time soon.
