Waiting on my BOS Kirk delivery, but by god I love this bike.
I'd love try Kirk some day, Id like hear your comparison of both kirk and canecreek.

Cheers, will post some thoughts on the Kirk once I've given it a good thrashing.
I don't expect it to be lightyears ahead, or even ahead per say. But having a shock that's lighter, easily adjustable AND has the same or slightly better performance, will be a win for me.

What weight springs are y'all running on the DHR's? And I guess what weight are you running at as well..
I have a 400 pound spring on mine, but I'm fairly certain it isn't enough. The back and front don't seem to be paired up nicely, so I ordered a 450 pound spring. No clue what my weight is, 215-230?

I weigh around 200 ready to ride and use a 450# spring. IF it's accurate, I could probably get away with a slightly higher rate, but I wouldn't want to jump to 500#. Where can a guy get a 475# ??
^ Same here, I have a 450lbs spring for approx 200lbs riding weight. Nice bike Nick.
Although it looks nice and clean its in desperate need of a service, all bearings dry as hell, forks twisted and generally makes a horrid noise despite very fussy applications of mastic tape!
Absolutely love the way it rides though, like a sunday, but better
edit: just seen the other dhr posts here, think im on a 350 spring, i weigh around 170lbs kitted up. completely lost in the world of ccdb tuning tbh.
feel like i want to go up a rate in both forks and shock and then ease off the damping as apparently im running quite a bit. got the hard fork spring

I pounded the snot out of mine today. Still waiting on the new spring to arrive, but the bike seems to be taking it pretty well.
How often do y'all grease up the bearings? Do you undo the bearing caps a little when you do?

I have a DHR and was wondering, what's the benefit of undoing the caps when you inject grease? Does the grease shoot in there easier?
I've never tried... But there are seals and an o-ring in there, so I'm sure it would build up some pressure? It has to go somewhere..
The general rule is pump grease until you feel resistance and do not force it. My old RFX had zerks pop out if I tried to force to much grease into the pivots.
I did use the fittings to inject grease this past winter, and they worked fine (without loosening the caps). I kept pumping until I felt resistance, then I backed off. Of course, being the OCD bugger that I am, I ended up taking the caps off anyway just to see how much grease I got in there. For whatever reason, I got more grease in some bearings than others, so I just topped those off when I had the caps off.
Continuing the DHR theme, Highland was teh win this weekend.
May just be the pic, but you appear to be approximately 1.5' taller than Chewbaca...and riding a 4 year olds bike. I hope I didn't suggest that you need a Lenz Sport.

They are there. Cats paw was absolutely sweet up until about 1 week ago and now those new big berms have a lot of holes in them. They never bum me out too much; after all we're riding 8" travel bikes.
I'm using the green ti spring (200#, I believe)
Yeah I was on my 6" enderpo, that's why I ask. Happy hour got pretty chewed up recently, cat's paw was pretty sweet.
A lot of traffic on those two trails on Sunday. Most people rode either CP or HH.

The Spank rims had to go, three tyre levers to get a tyre on and off was stupid. Also running a Chromag Trailmaster LTD and a Sytace P6 Hi Flex post which has impoved comfort greatly, I still don't like the frame so it will be getting swapped for a Shan later in the year.
I've got a Vengeance HLR but I'm not sure if I want to run it on this thing or not.

The Heckler rides great! I love it. I mostly use it for riding XC locally, but in this picture I took it to Winter Park. It's the only bike i've got, so I use it for everything.
The fork is great. It's the Fox 34 with lockout. I never use the lockout. I don't feel much flex in the fork at all, and i'm 220 lbs and I ride aggressively.
The rear shock has lockout and propedal. I use the propedal for climbing sometimes. Most of the time I don't use it.
The bike hauls serious booty. The bigger wheels fly and it handles awesome. There were only a few jumps i didn't hit at Winter Park. It's a good jumper and super easy to move around.
I put wide Truvativ Boobars on it, a 35mm stem (bike is XL. I'm right inbetween L and XL and this fits me perfect), bigger rotors (8"), shimano deore brakes, converted to 1x with a 32 tooth up front and Wolftooth out back. I put on a bashring just for riding DH. The bike is ninja quiet.
I also threw on a CaneCreek Angleset so it's sitting at 65.5 degrees for the head angle.
Seriously my buddies were all surprised how fast I could ride that bike through the rough stuff. They were all on DH bikes and they were having problems hanging on. I think a big thing to consider is the wheel size and my weight though. It's seriously really easy to keep momentum on it, and it turns awesome.
