Slightly less poppy than the previous gen, but daaayyyuuumm this thing is smooth in everything else!
Definitely much better plowing through the rough stuff, super stable in cornering and straight lines. So, so fast. Hopping from one line to the other in the gnar is a joy. I shat myself several times because I wasn't expecting it to be this fast! Hahaha
It really is the kind of bike that I've been wanting. It really exceeds my expectations. When I first sat on it, I noticed how super slack it is. I was a bit worried that it would handle like a pig in tight situations. I don't know what the combination of factors is, but it for sure wasn't the case!

Thanks man! You're right. I think I'm scared to think of how fast I'll be going by the end of the season...

Also, one more thing that I noticed that the new DHR has over the old one: traction when braking in the rough!

yup

It was on a little downhill mid climb (on jes)..usually it's not a problem as my hands have a chance to dry off at the top but it was sweltering that day and I was literally drenched....went to pull up really hard off a little hit off the side of the trail and my hand came off right at the apex...not fun

Also my grips were more worn down than I would like..oh well.. shit happens I'll be back on the trainer bike next week I'm sure..

Don't waste your money you just need to use Instagram filters. I suppose you could buy a flashy lens and take all your photos at f1.4 just so you have to take 32 photos to show the whole bike.

Your photo is good, don't be an artistic dick, leave that to the hipsters that ride to places just so they can take a photo of their bike in a perfectly lit location.

I like Nikon cameras for some reason the first time I used one it seemed logical and quite easy to use while the couple of Canon DSLR's I had used did not.

Ooooh f1.8, with the right lighting you should be able to get some nice bokeh balls, dick!

I want, handlebar brand in focus, fork axle in focus, crown in focus, HT in focus, brand on frame in focus, rear shock bushing in focus showing the full shock out of focus, narrow wide ring in focus, and a nice angled rearward shot focused on the rear mech.

Then take photos of your two microwaves.

How are you liking the CTD shock?
I have nearly the exact same build (with CTD shock) and love it, but can't quite get the rear suspension where I want it.

the CTD shock actually works pretty good on this bike (I hated the same shock on another bike)
but it gets very hot during descents. and feels like it needs a volume spacer to make it a bit progressive

I weight 70kg
running 25% SAG.
4 clicks of rebound
CTD on descent all time.
