why can I only post pictures up to 800x800 in size, while some pictures posted on this site are clearly bigger than that?

Those pics are hosted on another site and linked to here with the IMG button on top of the post page.

Click on that button and paste the exact location of the picture and submit. It should show up....if it didn't then you did something wrong.

Hint: Right click on picture and select properties. Copy location of picture (will have a pic file ending) and post that address not just the web page address....the actual picture address.
