one thing very telling right now - states such as Kansas and Ohio - which are traditionally GOP strongholds - trumps lead is so small that it is within the margin of error of the polls.

Interesting. I too felt like I had some parts but was missing something.
Summary from a member of a different forum. Thanks DonQuixote99.

Why so many want Trump?

It's the question of the decade. How can anyone like this guy? I've had parts understood, but never felt I really had it solid. Until now. Thank you, thank-you, Doug Muder of The Weekly Sift!

The longer form argument is worth reading, but I will give you the quick summary. Trump is popular and may win because he appeals to everyone who does not understand the modern world, and feels like they don't fit in these days. There's been too much change for many people. They maybe aren't doing well, and in any case the world feels wrong to them. Fact is, it's felt wrong ever since they stopped being kids. They think Trump will solve their problems by forcing things to go back to being right--and if he does it violently that's just fine.

MAGA’s Closing Argument: Dad’s Coming Home
If you can’t see any sense in the pro-Trump case, you’re looking at the wrong level. “How can this election be close?” It’s a cry of frustration I hear almost every da…

I don't like it so everybody has to like it my way?
Fuck off and welcome to being alive. Do you think you are the first to feel like this or just maybe it has happened to just about every fucking generation ever?

What give you the right to dictate how everybody else lives? Eat shit and die already.
I've come to terms with the fact that leaders resemble their electors.
Trump will probably win because about half the US is represented (in reality or aspirationally) by his values.
Whatever outrageus thing he says, doesnt matter. Its exactly what his voters think/want.

not sure that's the case. his base that loves him is largely unchanged from prior elections. the bigger factor at play is the undecided / independent voters - they saw what went down in trumps first term, and that's largely why he lost. since then he's only gotten worse. it riles up his base, but drives the independents away.

the repeal of roe v wade is also going to backfire on them.

You certainly have more faith than I do.

@Avy – saw this today and thought of your concerns about Harris & the Israel/Hamas war.

Thank You Brother for the thought. I am Sad to say, that I disagree with him on Harris being a better choice regarding this matter. It is a pebble in her shoe that she must walk on. She IMHO Must At Least Right Now,take a Stronger Stance, than this”we stand by Isreal”. We,the USA have Blood on Our Hands,we have broken the Law of the Land set long ago to Avoid this matter at hand. Remember? So there is no Law? So Nobody has to Follow these Laws? That is what we are saying.by contributing our monies and bombs and now Our Men and Women.

Now we are into Lebanon, complete destruction in a Country on the brink as is. Destroying everything, and just saying Hezbala was there. I don’t know what to say,yet I have so much to say.

“I don’t know anything about the comedian. I don’t know who his is. I’ve never seen him. I heard he made a statement, but it was just a statement that he made. He’s a comedian. What can I tell you?” Trump said.
