Hopefully I live long enough to watch the different varieties of Jesus followers turn on each other for not being the right kind of Jesus followers and try to make the government enforce the true faith.

Yep, capitalism is good. In my company all our Hispanic (which is our entire labor crew of 25 or so) workers are legal and/or have work visa's. Never been to the places you mentioned other visiting i.e. Greeley, Ft Collins & Loveland. I have one friend locally which is a cattle rancher raises cattle for slaughter, but sells them before hand. All his ranch hands are the same, here legally or have temporary work visas. It is all about the process, but you can still enjoy capitalism and do it legally. However I do feel companies should be fined and/or shut down if they have illegals working for them until they can follow the rules.
Brian,I am still waiting for you to reply. I see that you went into a F5 Hurricane. However, that has nothing todo with my question to you. Perhaps you could find the time?

Seriously. Normally you get a break but Trump could stop squawking from the day he was voted out. Even if he wasn't mashing out 140 characters with his hamberder mitts he was being hauled into or out of a courtroom with full media coverage.
It's been nice having Biden as president in regard to the fact that he hasn't felt the need to do dumb rallies constantly throughout his presidency or be on the news every....single....day.

38% of the adult US population has a college degree. If that’s your target audience then you’re starting at a disadvantage unless you assume those without a degree respect the college degree holders. Factor in a number of recent graduates with student debt who don’t see a tremendous job opportunities which allow them to earn a living and pay the debt and you’ve definitely lost some voters who soured on the American dream of getting a degree as the key to a comfortable future.

So a significant portion of Hispanic/Latino voters were swayed largely by the left’s association with and support of trans people.
Hispanic/Latino population in the US is about 19% and trans people are under 2%. It’s a bold statement that the self expression of small percentage of the population was influential enough that being affiliated with them could tank a political party’s chances. This is a group that is on the receiving end of violence in the US.

A short study in "feelings vs all available evidence" with a cross over of "surely the leopards won't eat my face".

Kevin Marino Cabrera, a Miami-Dade County commissioner who was state director for Trump’s 2020 campaign, said Hispanics rejected the “woke ideology.” Trump has made his opposition to transgender rights central to his campaign.

“To be clear, Hispanic voters are not buying what Democrats are selling,” Cabrera said.

The same was true in South Texas, where Hispanics are largely of Mexican descent.

Sure but I'm being serious - it's like a factor of 10 more intense.

When I started telling friends that my wife was moving away with the kids bit we were staying married - everyone had an opinion.

One opinion that I only heard from hispanic men was that I should get multiple girlfriends while my wife was out of town. 10 dudes all suggested that - 10 hispanic men. Nobody else even hinted that I should cheat on my wife.

And

I think blaming the media or thinking it was a marketing problem (as in the Dems didnt connect with voters) is a bit of denial and sticking the head in sand.

Trump didnt just won. It was a landslide, all swing states, house and congress. The dems got like 10+ million less votes than last time, on a similar platform.

I think the US is fundamentally more conservative than we, RM, would like to believe. It was Kamala being black and female, it was abortion, it was inmigration, it was LGBT rights, etc.
Right wing media didnt create the voters, the voters created a demand for right wing media.

As with all these things, there is no one answer. There are a huge variety of factors that affect different people in different ways. I agree that way too many Americans are actually just racist misogynist idiot dickbags.

As a job stealing immigrant, who's not eligible to have voted for Kamala - I support that conclusion.

No amount of boiling it down will provide a simple accurate answer. There’s racism and misogyny. There’s ignorance and media illiteracy. There’s apathy. There’s the electoral college structure.

For a long time I’ve believed the left has an uphill battle because they represent a multifaceted inclusive position that becomes increasingly complicated as they try to provide an equitable voice for a tremendous variety of people. They are also inclusive of progressive voices moving from the known into the unknown. Conservatives can dig in and say they like how things are or were. They are the party for people who think the bible (fuck autocorrect for trying to capitalize it) should influence government. Their position of deregulation aligns with many voters’ image of freedom. The left wants to enact policies for the welfare of the people and that doesn’t comport the image of strength the way the image of rugged individualism does. Even if that individualism means a lesser quality of life for more people, it provides the hope that unfettered success is attainable. American is not a utilitarian place.

Assuming that’s a real post by a real person…

tldr summary.
The rest of us did not vote because we simply do not care about society or its trajectory.

Not surprising that a group that feels disconnected feels disconnected. A rising tide might lift all boats but that is of little comfort if you’re not in a boat and just treading to keep from drowning.

End of the day, Trump won the electoral & the popular vote. Pretty much equates to over half the voters didn't like where this country was headed. The democratic party was going too far left for America and need to get back to the center. Anyways its the left that wants to mandate all electric cars & appliances. In California alone in 2030 they are no longer allowing gas burring furnaces and water heaters, they want all EV cars too. The cost of electricity here in CA is outrageous and the cost of adding solar is outrageous. We don't have the power grid to support all the electricity especially during the summer with the rolling blackouts and are being told when we can and can't use our power. Now that to me is authoritarian pushed by the democratic agenda. We will tell you what you can & can't have. So yes, voted for TRUMP!
