In the bathroom, fighting a battle
My 12" G4 PowerBook seems to be getting a lot hotter than usual as of late. It gets o hot that it is uncomfortable to have siting on my lap. If there any particular reason this may be happening? Nothing has changed in the past few months, it just gets really really hot.

Do I need a MacBookPro?

Thats one of Apple's innovative features in their notebooks, code name: HindenBook. Lately Dell has tried to copy this feature with defective batteries, but it took them 10 years to catch up!

Here is a newer 12" that got too hot - are you sure you don't have a defective battery:

Was wondering when you'd chime in...didn't expect an 11 year old article though, even from you. :thumb:
The one from Norway is from August 2, 2006. Its a 12" powerbook. Seriously it could be a faulty battery. There has been quite a few Dells and Powerbooks in the news lately with battery failures like that.

While I do try to live life as a nudist, I compute while wearing pants.

I'll look into the battery thing, but it gets hotest on the no battery side. It's a little over a year old, but has benn heavily used for most of that year.

EDIT: Just checked and my battery is not one of the recalled ones.

My, my, toshi can't deal with reality:nopity:

Yet a thousand 5300 shipped and a hundred consumers bought them before they were recalled. Many more modern Apple G4/Dell notebooks have also shipped that are now currently bursting into flames all over the Interweb. You pay the premium for the Apple quality, eh :bomb:

My work laptop had a recalled Sony battery last week - requested the battery on Tuesday via Dell's site and a replacement came to the office on Thursday.
