She was 16 when she went to israel for military training. and dude, when a country spends 25% of its budget in military, and even 16 year old jewish girls from peru have to travel half the world to train in the army, that is DEFINATELY not keeping their lifes normal.
is a country where 15year olds know how to fire an M16 a place where you can say "normal lives going on, and things are not affecting them"????

Aside from horrible spelling and grammar, I think montahsu needs a dose of reality. Isreal is in a fight for it's life. Its surrounded by countries that hate Jews, and want the land for it's natural resouces. I doubt VERY seriously that life in Isreal is ANYTHING but normal. When I was in Sinai in 96, I flew out of Tel Aviv to come home, and life there was anything but normal. When we got to the airport, the whole thing was surrounded by armed men AND women. Some of them are 15 and 16 years old.
A normal life? I doubt it exsists there. Even all the way north near Beersheba they have to worry. Why you ask? Look farther north and what do you see? Lebanon. Look east, what do you see? Jordan and Syria. Look south and there's Egypt. No, there's no such thing as a normal life there...

The arabs moved in and commenced to use the land that the Jews made. When Israel was re-created in 1948 (I think) and the Jews moved back in, the arabs decided that the Jews were an abomination and so began 60 years of fighting to wipe them out.
