Those squashed sammiches are sooooo good. First had one in Rome with prusciutto, basil, and fresh mozzarella.

Tasty! We do grillled (or squashed) samiches lots - my version of a cheap n' fast dinner.

My fave is grille salmon samich on sourdough, with mozza and tomato and a bit of tartar sauce (homemade of course).

Another favorite is blackforest ham or roast beast with swiss, aguacate, sprouts, tomato, red onion. I like those on a dark bread like pumpernickle or rye
