Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
So the family tradition, like a lot of families, is prime rib for Christmas dinner. Normally its roasted potatoes and carrots, with sauted green beans.

Not that I don't like that but looking for an alternative or two for sides.

i'm gonna do a standing rib roast too...i dig the mash, because of the gravy possibilities. we're planning roasted beets, and sauteed mushrooms as well.

I love horseradish cream with prime rib. Mashed taters are always good too - consider adding roasted garlic, herbs, and/or cheese. Or maybe a potato gratin? Yorkshire pudding?

Dude, your crusade is doomed. Cold beer with grilled steak on a hot day is friggin' awesome. Hell, it doesn't even have to be very good beer, as long as everyone's in on the joke.
Let's not go overboard here. If your going to drink beer, it might as well be good beer. And chilled is acceptable, but ice cold? :disgust1:
