well between my dh bike and my bmx i felt i was missing something in life. i mean both are fun and all, but there not really multi-use bicycles unless you call street and dirtjumping multi-use. i found myself missing out on there "XC" ride my friends were still going on. not to mention a dh bike isnt the greatest thing to go out on when the gf wants to for a ride on the gravel trails. she always seems to be about 2-3 minutes behind you in a cloud of dust in a very bad mood.
enter my old 99 cannondale f-400 frame i found again at my parents place for a visit. however since i wana try something new im going to single speed it and need some pointers
the build so far is this
99 c-dale f-400 caad 2
headshok p-bone 50mm fork
zak-19's on parallax hubs with mich wild gripper 1.9's
avid arch-rival 40's
coda flat bars.
blackspire 34 toothdh ring with lexan bash
however i need a new crank(dont need anything special) and have no idea what to do with ratios. as said my ring is a 34 tooth. im guessing im going to have to get some spacers for my hub and a singulator type thing. how does the build sound for what im doing?. any suggestions?
