does anyone know anything about the promax mech. disc brakes? are they any good? im on a really tight budget and there only $35. any input would helppromax discs?

Spring for some Shimano Deore mechanicals. Cheap and will work far better than the Promax ones. Promax discs are on par with Wal-mart quality.
thanks i think i will get the deores there not much more and i plan on doin some resort riding so the better quality will help
Only other thing I should mention is I've actually heard a lot of suprisingly good feedback about the Deore hydraulics. You may not want to deal with hydraulics, and you may not want to spring for the extra money, but if you can dig up the money and don't mind dealing with the fluid (or bringing it to your LBS), the Deore hydraulic disc brakes are absolutly a screaming deal.
I've got Deore Hydro's on my Kona and they kick ass!!
